Research & Development Intern
Christchurch, New Zealand
About Us:
We’re working to improve our health system by collecting single-use medical devices from hospitals all over New Zealand (saving them from going to landfills) remanufacture them back to as-new condition, and return them to hospitals at a lower cost than the originals.
Our work was recognized as New Zealand’s leading circular economy initiative at the 2019 Sustainable Business Network National Awards, and with re-use rates of up to 13 times per product, we’re confident that our programs are the leading product stewardship schemes on a per-product basis.
Our Vision:
Is a more sustainable health system, created by reducing the negative impacts of single-use medical devices. We do this by remanufacturing these devices so that they can be used again and again. This both reduces the landfill and carbon emission cost, as well as the actual costs - which means more people can get access to healthcare as a result of our work.
We’re not the first company to reprocess single-use medical devices, but we are the only one south of the equator.
We’ve built our business model differently, to make the benefits of remanufacturing accessible to health systems of all sizes.
